Now this post might be graphic for some --- especially if you don't have kids. But lets keep it really here. Being a parent has been the hardest yet the most REWARDING job I will ever have. But after this weekend I am need a day at the spa!
Where does one start --- or better question is which kid should I start with?
Oldest to youngest sounds good.
K (I try not to post their name for their privacy) is our oldest son. A 9 year old who is in fourth grade. Now homework for us has been such a challenge over since last year we have thought about about homeschooling. Not because he's not smart because he is --- we will get to that in a moment. In second grade he was testing at third grade math and fourth grade reading. So when he went on to third grade we as parents were expecting his grades to be better then what they were in second grade. Which were all B's and C's. So when he was D's and U's (F's people...they are still F's!) were were shocked! We did after school tutoring for him but nothing seemed to work. Now I know what I am about to say might upset some people and for that I am truly sorry. But I HATE common core! Seriously, when I am needing to google third grade math to help my kid with his homework we have a problem. He's looking at me like really mom! I should trust you will help when you have to look it up on a the computer! Well, he passed third grade THANK GOODNESS! And fourth was seeming to go better until Friday. He had two missing/late assignments so he was upset that he couldn't play at a friends house. After 2 hours of fighting us he finished it and just in time to go to a friends for their daughter 1st birthday. While there he started to complain that he wasn't feeling well. And he was a little "off". I said we should go because he felt warm and we should get him home. This is where I have to put a pin in the story to introduce our daughter.
E is our middle child. A little girl that has been on her own time since birth. I apologized to my mother for every wrong doing I ever did in my life when we found out we were having a girl...hoping that would get in good. I WAS WRONG!!! Long story made very short. She was due July 27th...scheduled c-section for the 21st girl came on the 16th! So we have a Golden Birthday, Sweet 16th, middle child oh and did I mention ONLY GIRL ON BOTH SIDES!!! I thought me apologizing would save me from this...and I'll keep it real when I say she shows NO signs of slowing down! As I am writing this post she is playing talking about needing to meet with a photographer...LOL!!!! Anywho....getting of track. E is 6 and in first grade. We have been battling an ear issue for almost four years. She had two sets of tubes which as soon as they fell out she would be back in pain. Finally two years ago her adenoids and tonsils removed before Christmas. And we have been pain free since. Well of course over the weekend her throat and ears are bothering her and she is back in pain.
Picking back up with K...
After watching Ghost Adventures Friday night everyone went to bed. About midnight and both K and E come crawling into a bed. Complaining of how they don't feel good. Our king size bed never felt so small. With my hubby, the dog (Olive, who is a bed hog!) and two kids this mama went to K's room to sleep. And it was the worst sleep EVER....he is getting a new mattress. So if I need to crash on his bed again it will be soft.
Sunday morning rolls around and we make it church on time --- YAY!!
I knew Nick was going to go scouting for deer season and thought K should go to. I agreed since he too can go hunting next year. And this is where crap hits the fan --- literally.
G is our baby --- 4 year olds. And potty trained...so you could imagine my frustration when I learned he didn't just poop in his underwear. But it was more like diarrhea!! Awesome sauce :)). I got him cleaned up and getting ready to run to the grocery store to grab wings for the Packer game (I don't want to talk about the loss...it is still to painful). When I hear E screaming that the toilet was overflowing! So after cleaning up a child I was not cleaning up the bathroom floor. Needless to say I was done for the day...LOL.
So I welcome Mondays with open arms. Kids are feeling better and back at school and I enjoyed a cup of coffee in --- SILENTS :))
Happy Monday ya'll!!
