Hard for me to believe that Valentine's Day will been here next week. This blog is not for the newly engaged couple or even the old married couple. This blog is for the parents of a child in school. My oldest is in Kindergarten!! So hard for me to believe he will be 6 soon when my youngest is 6 months. Time is sure flying by to fast.
Now I would not called myself the Toni Spelling of crafting but I thought I could hold my own. That was until Pinterest came along......then I realized I had some work to do if I wanted to be in that category. Last year I did what every parent does, waits until the last minute to buy the store bought cards and candy. But this year is going to be different! I am on a mission to have the best Valentine's Day cards a 5 year can have. So with "K" in tow we took off to a bilk candy store to look for some inspiration.
I wanted something that would tie in with school/education. Since I feel education is so very important. But what?? Since the candy I would rather have my child eat in not the candy a 5 year old wants...LOL. Then I saw it...SMARTIES.
So we bought plastic candy bags from Party City for about $8.00 for 100 bags. The smarties we bout from Gooseberries (but you could buy from any store). I bought tags from Office Depot to print on. I put 3 pieces of candy in each bag with a tag that said "I think your smart".
I think they turned out great! I can't wait for "K" to take them to school.
I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!
Happy Planning!
