But I will offer some amazing advice from an amazing Wedding Planner...LOL.
The number one question I get is. "I just got in engaged..what do I do first?"
My answer has and will always be the same...NOTHING! Take a few days even a week or two to enjoy being engaged. Open a bottle of champagne and relax because over the next few months things are going to get crazy. I know I know you are not going to be that "bridezilla" and most of you won't. But you would be surprise what brings out in people over a wedding. Bridesmaid (who don't know each other) will fight for your attention. Some one will be upset that they are not maid of honor or not even asked to be in the wedding. Parents will want you to invite some one who don't know. And of course after working a 40 hour week you are needing to come home to sit in front of the computer and compare vendors! Some of your partners will tell you I don't care about the flowers...pick whatever you want. Which will drive you nuts because you want them to have a say. Which cause a fight. Now if you are in this stage now I am sorry...it will get better I promise!
Back to the advice...
After you have done nothing for a few days, your first step is to pick a budget. Yes, a budget. You and your partner will need to sit down and determine what is the cost you are not will to go over. I see so many couples skip this step and go right to planning. They over spend and start their marriage off in debt.
How do you determine a budget? Find out if your parents are going to help and with how much. DO NOT ASSUME! After you have chosen a budget you are can go on to the next step. Which is...
You will have to wait to next week for step #2.
Good Luck and Congrats to all you newly engaged couples!
