Do you believe in fate? That one true love, meant to be? If not you will (I hope) after this post. But first you will need some back story. There is always a back story.
I first heard of my groom about three years ago at Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI.. Yes, Summerfest. You see Mike is (was) a rapper for the group KHB (KingHellBastard). And we would have a connection that we would not know about until his wedding or until I met Lindsey.
My husband Nick is from Oshkosh WI. His best friend (our best man in our wedding and God Father of our oldest child) is Jerad B. or better known as JB ILL in the DJ world. What does this have to do with my couple...I'm getting there.
When a Bride and Groom call to inquire information about our services I try to find a common interest with them. It makes for our first meeting to be a little more comfortable. I spend so much time with my couples that some I am still friends with to this day. So when I found Lindsey and Mike's engagement photo (from 4Halos Photography) I thought he looked familiar. When talking with my husband later that day he recognized him right as DNA aka Mike Danahey..
Mike and Lindsey met thought a mutual friend but it would be a year later before Mike would bump into Lindsey (literally) at a hip hop show. Afterwards she couldn't stop thinking about him and took the first step in asking for his phone number.,
The rest shall we say is...history.
When we had our first face to face meeting at their reception site you could see how much they love they each. Mike was so attentive to Lindsey's needs it was adorable to watch. All he wanted was to make their day perfect. And perfect it was.
Their ceremony was held at The Intercontinental Hotel and was officiated by Lindsey's friend Jeremy Hengst. I loved how he broke down the time line of their relationship. He made you feel that you were there from the beginning. From Mike's surprise 34th birthday party to their wedding day. He told the story of their love perfectly. There is that word again.
Their reception was held at The Canal Street Yacht Club. All 200 guest were ushered in to a lit up tent where white flowers in black vases were surrounded by wheat grass making up their centerpieces. Instead of table numbers my city couple had their favorite city spots marking their tables for guest to find.
This wedding had a music line up to die for!! DJ Kid Millions played music through out dinner in spite of our electric issues. Thankfully we were able to resolve the issues before 5 Card Studs took the stage. How what kind of wedding would it be if Mike and KHB didn't perform? I am happy to report that KHB did take the stage for their "finale" performance,
So how does this all tie in together. Fate brought Lindsey and Mike together at that hip hop show which would lead to their engagement in June of 2012. What does it have to do with me? Mike and I had both slept in the basement of JB ILL's home...LOL.
Through it all, Lindsey and Mike (and their families) were so sweet, and we felt so amazed to be part of such a huge, wonderful extravaganza. We know that this will go down in history as one of the most extraordinary events on that property and we are thrilled with how it all turned out – best of the best of the best to Lindsey and Mike for always!
